AWS ELB

Implements Load Balancer.

IaaS

Elastic Load Balancing (ELB) automatically distributes incoming traffic across multiple targets such as EC2 instances, containers, and IP addresses to improve availability and fault tolerance. It offers Application, Network, and Gateway load balancer types tuned for HTTP, high-throughput TCP, and appliance traffic respectively. Health checks and automatic scaling of the balancer itself keep applications responsive as demand shifts.

Capabilities

  • Spread traffic across healthy backends
  • Health checks and automatic failover
  • TLS termination
  • Layer 4 (TCP) or Layer 7 (HTTP) routing
