Persistent Disk is Google Cloud's durable block storage for Compute Engine and Google Kubernetes Engine, providing disk volumes independent of the instance lifecycle. Volumes can be resized while in use and backed up with snapshots, and offer standard, balanced, and SSD performance options. Regional Persistent Disk can synchronously replicate across zones for higher availability.
